Look After Your Friend Training Part One
Serious

Your time as a student can be a lot of fun, but it can also be challenging sometimes. Quite some students struggle with mental health and you might have noticed some of your friends do too. Handling this as a friend might be difficult and raise questions as ‘how can I help my friend without letting it affect myself too much?’, ‘how can I listen to someone in a way that makes them feel heard?’, ‘what does a certain diagnosis actually mean?’, and many more.

In this training, given by two student trainers, several topics will be discussed:

  • Practical tips on looking after your friend
  • Supporting a friend through the student journey
  • Understanding your friend’s diagnosis
  • Knowing your services: getting professional help in- and outside of the UT

The training sessions will take place on Friday the third (part 1) and 10th (part 2) of November 14:00-16:00. These sessions are complementary, so participants are expected to be there for both sessions!

You can sign up by using this form on the website of the Student Union. Please note that the two training sessions are complimentary and can therefore not be followed separately. A maximum of 20 people can join each training.
Furthermore, the trainings will be held on campus. The location will be announced via e-mail to the participants beforehand, together with a small preparation assignment.
